Penis Sexual Health
Male sex functioning and sexuality are complicated and can be a combination of physical and psychological factors. We provide a space for men to explore in a supportive and safe space how to redefine the role of sex in their lives. Our therapists aim to be inclusive of all genders, relationships, and affiliations. The most common challenges for men around sexual functioning and sexuality-related issues is anxiety: performance anxiety, anticipatory anxiety, and fear. This anxiety stems from past experiences, cultural and familial messages, and inaccurate information or expectations about oneself and others. We provide support to help manage the anxiety and return to sexual functioning.
The most erectile issues we treat include:
- Difficulty maintaining or achieving an erection
- Maintaining a strong enough erection for penetration
- Premature ejaculation
- Delayed Ejaculation
- Problems with desire, arousal, and orgasm
- Post Prostate Cancer Recovery
Some men carry powerful emotions that impact their sense of self as an authentic sexual person. This might be due to past traumatic experiences, low self-esteem, sexual insecurity, life changes, stress, relationship issues, infidelity, or compulsive behaviors. We provide intensive programming for those who have engaged in problem sexual behaviors. You can read more about those services here. We utilize sensate focus therapy and mindfulness based cognitive behavioral strategies to improve erectile dysfunction.
